I too am having a problem getting any slimserver software to install on my brand new Ubuntu (6.06 Drapper Drake).
My old RedHat server died.. My friends have been telling me how wonderful Debian is.. and I am impressed... many fewer problems than I ever had with RPMs. Until now.. And I NEED my slimserver running. Can anybody offer any help? Here are the things I tried.. Does the Ign at the start of the slimdevices update tell anybody anything? That doesn't look good. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed.
