I am still not able to connect correctly. I have tried various mount
commands and have not been successful. Can you interpret the right
commands for me?

I am using a 2.4 kernel, and gnome GUI. The floppy and cdrom are in the
media folder rather than mnt. The music is accessible from the desktop
as computer> network> music1 where music1 is the name of the link
station box on the network. The other machines at that level are
"debian" and "windows network"
The location of the shared folder on the linkstation is thus
smb://music1/share.

I have tried commands such as mkdir mnt/share or mkdir mnt/music1 and
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.183/share /mnt/share
-ouser=mike,password=(password) and the last return was cifs unknown
file system.
I have done these commands as su.

Where am I going wrong?
Cheers,
Mudlark.
