I can't say exact details for SlimServer, since /var/log/slimserver exists, but was empty for as long as I can remember (is there any way to have this filled?). I remember the last time I just rescanned the SlimServer database; I started this one Saturday morning and was wondering on Saturday noon that it was still scanning.

Sounds like it's looping... it puts a lot more effort into finding and interpreting tags than some programs, and usually doesn't like seeing conflicting information between different tag types. A very common problem is to have tag3v1 and v2 tags with different information. This is hard to detect because most programs will show you the v2 tag and ignore the v1. Anyway, you can turn on debug options from the command line or the web interface, either of which will populate the log. Or if you're feeling adventurous, you can download the latest nightly -- it's recently gotten some improved logging infrastructure and might even be more verbose. -- "I spent all me tin with the ladies drinking gin, So across the Western ocean I must wander" -- traditional _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
