        It's very straightforward, or should be.

        1) To make all music added to the drive readable by everyone,
        including slimserver, just make sure the permissions are right
        on the files as they are added.  This isn't an external drive
        thing, this is a multi-user OS thing.  

        So, User A adds some tracks to your /media/xyz/music hierarchy?
        Make sure all the DIRECTORIES are 777 and the tracks themselves
        666.  [Yes, you can get fancy with groups, etc., but unless
        you're in a fairly public system, who cares?]  Make sure the
        main /media/xyz is also 777!

        2) To get the same spot each time - ie, plug in the drive and
        have it always mount with the same /media point - I believe you
        can use the UUID info in fstab.  You've already done that
        previously, iirc.
