I installed Fedora Core 6 on a partition on my machine a while back. My gut impression was that FC6 is very concerned about access and security (not an issue for me in a secure, single-user system). Check to see if there are any access/security/reliability features related to the file system that might be causing poor performance. The FC6 Release Notes would be a good place to start. Checking the Fedora forums as you suggested is also a good idea.
The standard Fedora file systems types, ext2 and ext3, usually perform fairly well. -- Ron Olsen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ron Olsen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9233 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32295 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
