I built MySQL 5.0.33 and installed it into /opt. Here's what I get
now:
# /opt/slimserver/slimserver.pl --cachedir=/opt/slimserver/cachedir
--user=slimsrv --group=slimsrv
--prefsfile=/opt/slimserver/cachedir/slimserver.pref
--pidfile=/opt/slimserver/cachedir/slimserver.pid
2007-02-13 16:00:16.0144 ERROR: DBI Connection failed: DBI
connect('database=slimserver:mysql_socket=/tmp/mysql.sock','slimserver',...)
failed: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by
server; consider upgrading MySQL client at
/opt/slimserver/CPAN/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 652
Everything I see about this error refers to pre-4.1 clients trying to
access a newer version, and this clearly isn't the case.
