What wma are you playing? Is it Internet Radio? If so, what is the URL? What error messages do you get when you try to play it directly? Look in http://localhost:9000/log.txt for the server log.
To get more details in the log, go to Server-Settings->Debugging and check the box labelled d_directstream. Click on Change. Then try to play the wma directly, and then look in http://localhost:9000/log.txt for error messages. You should also upgrade to 6.5.1; it's the latest SlimServer version.
