I'm using dvd:rip to rip audio data off a video DVD. I thought I had a tool which verified the resulting rips were 24-bit, 48 kHz, but I must have been mistaken. Several apps show 48 kHz, but nothing shows the bit depth. Is there a tool that can show this? audacity just shows the bit depth audacity is set at, the XMMS plugin shows the sample rate but when file info is selected, it shows the info on the WAV plugin (gee, that's useful!)
Anyway when I encode in FLAC using "flac -8 -V --replay-gain" I get 16-bit, 48 kHz files. How do I get 24-bit files? -- Mark Lanctot 'Sean Adams' Response-O-Matic checklist, patent pending!'
