Hi,

I've got Slimserver 6.5.1 running on a Debian box and my iTunes music
folder on a network drive (USB hard disk connected to a Linksys NSLU2)
and mounted on the Debian box.

When I do a scan for music in Slimserver, it clears it all out and
finds all my music but when I try to play it on the Squeezebox, it just
says it can't open the file (and does this for any I try to play, not
just a few).

Anyone any ideas what's going on?

The same music played ok when I had slimserver and the itunes music on
a windows machine but I moved it to the network drive because I wanted
to be able to play my music on the squeezebox or using itunes on any
computer without the windows machine been on.

When I copied it to the network drive, I can play it on the windows
machine it was originally on by just mounting the drive as a network
drive but it doesn't work on another laptop - I have to run mt-daapd
and use it as a shared library.

Should it be ok to access the same library from a windows PC over a
network drive, from other itunes using mt-daapd and from slimserver all
at the same time? - has anyone tried such a thing before?

Thanks

Ian
