Please excuse my Linux lack of knowledge in advance. In trying to figure out how to create a bullet proof system for my wife and kids(no locked up windows pcs), I thought it would be interesting to have one of the new Gentoo Linux mini pc's running Slim Server, music is on a NAS drive, still want to access same music through i-tunes and import from itunes on a pc to this NAS drive. This way the Squeezebox would always be ready to go and no one has to remember to turn on a pc somewhere, the Gentoo can just sit in a closet with the router. When my wife or kids wants to add music, they can easily do it through itunes auto rip. Or will mixing all this stuff just flat not work?
