thanks for the tip, actually thats pretty close to what I wanted to set up, further details are, want to rip cd's in apple lossless from PC, point itunes music folder to the NAS drive, the idea of the new little Linux box was to keep my wife from remembering a PC had to be on in the house for the squeezebox to work. This sounds like it will work as long as I do playlist management in itunes. I also notice there are a few NAS drives out there you can just run Slim Server on, which might solve my problem anyway, as I have over 1000 cds to rip, I will need a large one like the infarent.
