This is my understanding. There are three parts to conversion. 1. Conversion rules - .conf files - define what is possible and how - NOT what is enabled. 2. The enabling/disabling of the rules - this depends on availability of relevant app (e.g. lame, wmadec, mplayer) and also enable/disable flag setting in pref file. 3. Slimserver has a preference order to pick from possible rules the "best" rules for output - e.g. native first, flac next. I din't know this preference order.
.conf files are never changed by slimserver. custom-convert.conf files will override similar rules in the convert.conf file. I don't know the order in the case of mulitple custom-convert.conf files. If a user "disables" a rule through setting/Fletypes - that setting will be dsaved in the pref file. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35836 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
