I see that disabled conversions go into the .prefs file. So it seems convert.conf is a sort of template file to use when you want to create a custom-convert.conf file. The text at the beginning of convert.conf file leads me to believe that slimserver will look for custom-convert.conf when it starts up and if it doesn't find it it will use the settings in the slimserver.pref file (?).
