Funnily enough, you would enter "/home/username/music". However, permissions on that directory will prevent slimserver from reading it. I recommend doing something similar to: sudo mkdir /home/music sudo chown username:username /home/music The "/home/music" dir will be created with 0755 permissions by default, i.e. drwxr-xr-x , so "username" can write to that dir and the slimserver user can read from it.
