Snarly / Pat >>> I suppose the real issue is the anxiety that the
'configure Postfix' request causes Debian users if they have just
transfered to GNU/Linux and are not very confident yet.

This is how I felt when the SS install started telling me to
configure Postfix, and me fairly new to Ubuntu. As I had no idea what
configuring Postfix might entail, I ignored it (or accepted the
defaults - I don't recall), and all was well.

But I guess it will continually trouble GNU/Linux newbies
unnecessarily. So if you wise folks could do something to help, it
would be good for newbies - even a note in the Debian installation
instructions in the Wiki by someone who understands what's going on re
Postfix would help. Any thoughts?

Best wishes
