No problem. I was having a few unrelated issues with slimserver, which an uninstall/purge and reinstall fixed, but got the same issue again. Of course having the memory of a goldfish I couldn't remember having the problem and ended up finding my previous solution through google... I'm a bit surprised it still exists though.
What's the basis of the problem? Why are there several packages that have to come from the slimdevices repository, rather than just the 'slimserver' package itself? I'm not really up to speed with the issues with this, but this kind of breakage does have the potential of lessening peoples' confidence in the slimdevices products... especially when we need to convert people into the 'server and slim-client' way of life... On a related note:- is there an 'official best way' of running a headless slimserver? I'm sure a basic debian installation is the easiest and best way, but I'll admit my experience of other non-windows distros is limited. If there isn't an 'official best-way', shouldn't there be, considering the server is a pretty important part of a squeezebox setup? I know there's the live slim cd, but it seems a bit limited if you want to run other services from the same box.
