Is there anyone out there that would (could) set up a simple, wired NAS
device for SB3 & SS for a fee? I know NOTHING about Linux & NAS stuff
and I’m certain I’d screw it up or wind up downloading ICBM launch
codes from NORAD! For the first 2 hours of reading this NAS stuff I
thought Linux was a character on the Peanuts cartoons.

I’m thinking Linkstation or NSLU2, but I’m open to any/all suggestions.
I’m looking for the simplest, wired, most user friendly, “turn on and
it runs” type NAS setup for running SB3 & SS.

My system: All wired (no wireless), cable modem > router 1 access
point > router 2 dedicated for AV use (thank you Mark Lanctot & bpa)
and a standalone USB external 500gb hard drive for my music library,
all wired to a networkable Yamaha RX-V2700 AVR. I already have the
Yamaha networked for internet radio use, working fine.

Here’s my plan/proposal:
I buy the NAS device, ship to you with check or money order, you
configure/load/tweak Linux & SS, maybe add a few SS addons (there are
only three that I saw that looked interesting), then ship back to me.
I have my own UPS account so no problems there, I’ll even email you the
return shipping label and you can drop it off at any Office Max, Office
Depot, Staples, UPS Store, etc….

I’ll stop here. If anyone is willing/capable of providing this service
just drop me a line here (email or in this thread) and we can discuss
details in more depth.

Thanks. :)
