I bet there is. I might even be willing. But why a NAS? There have been many threads on them, and I just don't see the attraction. Have you considered just using an old PC, one too slow to run Vista (or even XP)? They are cheap. If you need more disks, internal hard disks are incredably cheap, $200 for 400 GB, etc. There are many threads on the forums about platforms. > Here’s my plan/proposal: > I buy the NAS device, ship to you with check or money order, you > configure/load/tweak Linux & SS, maybe add a few SS addons (there are > only three that I saw that looked interesting), then ship back to me. > I have my own UPS account so no problems there, I’ll even email you the > return shipping label and you can drop it off at any Office Max, Office > Depot, Staples, UPS Store, etc…. I think in general that you'd be better with a used PC. You may have one in your basement already. Or get one off Craigslist. You should also plan to ship a DVD or two of ripped music, so it can be all setup and ready to play music when you get it back. > Toby > Ohio, USA I was going to ask where you are, since this is would be easier to do just throwing a PC in the car and driving over. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
