Assuming you're running Feisty the following should work (should work
on any flavour of Ubuntu for that matter):

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

# deb http://debian.slimdevices.com unstable main

and remove the *#* from the first line if you want 6.5.x or the second
if you want 7.x. Remove *ALL* other slimserver sources, including "deb
http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main". Thereafter, execute the
following:

sudo apt-get install slimserver
