Folks >>> I'd be grateful for any suggestions:

I just thought I'd try SC7 on my 'testing' box, which runs Ubuntu Gutsy.
  I added <deb http://debian.slimdevices.com unstable main > to my
sources.list, and used aptitude from the command line to install
'slimserver'

I started the web interface and entered the data requested. The scan
did not pick up the 'test' music, which is in /home/diana/music on the
hard drive in the box and comprises two artist folders containing five
albums with a total of 75 songs. I did a 'clear and rescan', which also
failed.

The log shows 28 entries of the form

[07-12-19 09:37:27.5674] Slim::Utils::Scanner::__ANON__ (158) Warning:
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/share/perl5/Slim/Utils/Scanner.pm line 158.
[07-12-19 09:37:27.5948] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1228) Warning:
[09:37:27.5683] ERROR:

I'm using

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 15454 - Debian - EN - utf8
Perl Version: 5.8.8 i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 5.0.45-Debian_1ubuntu3

Platform Architecture: i686-linux

I 'aptitude removed' and 'purged' slimserver, and deleted
/etc/slimserver, then reinstalled. No joy - same problem.

Any ideas would be welcome.
