You will have to have Linux mount the drive on your XP box with iTunes. I did this with Solaris and XP and it worked fairly well until my wife started buying DRM infested music...
What you'll need to do is share the iTunes folder on your XP box then use smbmount from the Ubuntu box to mount it. Read the smbmount man page and that *should* be enough to get you going. If not, Google smbmount and go from there.
