Blimey, that is a techie one. VMware perhaps? That would be one way, with 3 virtual OSs on the same pc. It would take a good bit of configuring though, so you should see it as a hobby! There may be other ways also. Also if you just want the same music in each room, then just an audio distribution amplifier would do it niceley.

As part of a multiroom installation I want to install perhaps 3 sound cards into a PC running *nix (probably NetBSD but Linux if I have to) and connect it to SlimServer as 3 separate Slim player devices. I figured this would be a nice easy way of doing things for those rooms (and the garden) that just need background music and don't need a display. Can control the music in those rooms from SlimServer, or sync them up with another room that does have a display. Obviously I can do it with one copy of SoftSqueeze or slimp3slave but how easy is it to do this with multiple instances running on one PC? -- Squirrel ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Squirrel's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5785 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43149 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
