I think there are some issues with finding a good accelerated X server (i.e. not VESA), but I've not had a need for one as my D201GLY2 is headless. Also have not had the need for an MS operating system on it, so I can confirm it works very well with at least CentOS/RHEL 5, Knoppix, and FreeBSD 6.
FreeBSD has WOL support for between 2 and 4 NICs, and the NIC on D201GLY2 is not one of them (it does work fine as a NIC though). WOL works fine in Linux and with a FreeBSD-supported NIC in the PCI slot. The 40mm fan I use is pretty quiet and the board throttles it down to 1500RPM, but I think I'll get a Tranquil TGV7 to make it silent. There's really not much cause to complain as it's nearly inaudible more than a foot or two away, I just want one less thing to fail. -- syburgh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ syburgh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43319 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
