The problem with this file is probably missing tag data embedded in the file, not the funky name. IIUC SC does not use the filename when indexing songs, only the tags.
For the very slow UI - simply switch to the Fishbone skin and all will be happy. I had the same problem with the standard UI and would have reverted to 6.5 if no other solution was available.
