The problem with Compress::Zlib is exactly the problem that I was
having with SC7.  You should be able to just delete
/opt/squeezecenter-7.0-17793/CPAN/Compress/Zlib.pm (or rename it), and
then your system installed module will be used and scanning should
work.  Let me know.

Curious that you are seeing the error message about Compress::Zlib, as
I see nothing on terminal or in logs (making it hard to track down). 
You are using a different command to start, though, so I will have to
experiment.
