Hi again, Ok I give up.
Open Amarok, go to playlist then add stream. Type " http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3 " in the box that should appear. go back to squeezecentre and open "choose player". On my machine I get xine from 127.0.0.1 select the stream and add something to the play list. Go back to amarok and low and behold you should hear the music...I hope. Sorry I hijacked your post and I hope the above works for you.
