I finally managed to get AlienBBC working. I upgraded SSODS to v3.0beta
11 which includes the latest mplayer, mplayer-stdout and
mplayer-stdout-ds-fp. Mplayer points to mplayer-stdout and
mplayer-stdout points to mplayer-stdout-ds-fp.
Still no sound.
I then deleted some more in the custom-convert.conf file since I made
the changes by hand. This did the trick.
AlienBBC stations now play. However some stations seem to switch to
pause for a second (after about 4 seconds) but after that play without
hesitation. I will include my present custom-convert.conf file. Maybe
somebody can have another look at it. It is probably not perfect yet.
Maybe I have to include the sections with mov wav** and aap wav** as
well !?!

After 10 days struggling AlienBBC is finally working and I learned some
basics of Linux software.
For those who helped me out: Thanks a lot !
