I'm having the same problem (on Ubuntu 6.0.6LTS). When I run the

I started the program in the debugger, but there perl hangs when the
first atempt to connect to the database is made. (MySQL isn't yet
running at that time)
To see what would happen if the program got past that point I started a
mysql server with the config on /var/lib/squeezecenter/cache. I than ran
the squeezecenter in the debugger again, and it hun when it tried to
create the database schema.
