I have recently upgraded my operating system (clean install) to Fedora 9. I have installed the 7.1 version of Squeezecenter and it appears to work, but I get no sound. My Squeezebox is plugged into my amplifier. The amp is on, the Squeezebox is on and responds to Squeezecenter, says it's playing, but no sound.
I have upgraded the firmware, checked the logs (nothing) and used a different (known working) input on my amplifier -- again nothing. There was a mention in the setup portion of Squeezecenter that said LAME wasn't installed, so I downloaded, compiled and installed it and now Squeezecenter reports that it is installed. Again, no sound. I tried it with the firewall turned off (and not SE Linux) again nothing. I didn't think it would matter since Squeezecenter can control it, but I'm desparate. I'm at a loss of what to do. If it matters, all of my music is encoded using Ogg-Vorbis. I've tried to install SlimServer (I like it better), but it doesn't seem to be able to build the required Perl packages anymore -- doesn't download the files.... Thanks!
