I have now got a FreeNas/(1TB)Raid5 box working great with SC7.0.2 and mastering large Music and Photo collections along with various backups from Windoze PC/Laptops.
Question is, how to back the thing up reliably? I have bought a WD MyBookWorld 1TB gizmo and am currently doing it manually (when I remember). The original plan was to run Rsnapshot on the FreeNas box and push the backup to the MyBook (RSync). Looking into the detail, it appears that this is NOT recommended. However, the MyBook is quite slow and I am not sure if running Rsnapshot on it is feasible (given the huge number of files it has to process). The process is documented here http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/rsnapshot. Has anyone tried this or can recommend a suitable alternative strategy (given the h/w I am using).
