I found out the CTL+ALT+DEL in another forum post & proceeded to try
out your suggestions Skunk. Anyway, it worked fine until the system
reported dependencies for SQL DB stuff & for my lack of Linux
knowledge, I decided to abandon the exercise altogether.

I bit the bullet & proceeded to get a licenced copy of WinXP Home to
run the SC on the 4G eeePC. After some hesitation, I replaced the
entire Linux SSD with XP code.

Pleased to say everything turned out fine,, including access to music
on the NAS. I was surprised I could fit quite a lot of stuff on the 4G
SSD after purging most of the unnecessary XP files. This includes an
early version of MS Office, iTunes, SC, MSN, IE, AntiVirus, etc.

Some tips to those intending to install SC on XP, assuming your eeePC
runs Linux at the mo.,,

1. Sales of Win XP closing on 30 June (in Australia anyway) so get your
order in before then

2. You may use either Win XP Pro or Home

3. You must use a SP2 Win XP install disk; earlier versions will not do
& you will get the dreaded BSOD

4. After Win XP install, move directories (which get bigger over time)
such as IE temp files to external storage (SD card). The eeePC manual
should tell you which directories to work on

It's quite cool to have SC running from the eeePC. You get to enjoy
portability & v low power consumption due to absence of HDD. Keep it
running 24/7?

Good luck to those of you looking at moving from Linux to XP on the
eeePC!
