I think you're better off staying with the official release, which for now is 7.1, although I expect 7.2 will be out by the end of this month. For the LS Pro, which is almost the same as the LS Live, I found the following steps to be critical wrt GD (note, your paths could be different from what I have):
1. after running build-perl-modules.pl, edit modules.conf to use GD 2.34 instead of 2.35 2. try running the scanner manually, via: sudo perl /usr/share/squeezecenter/scanner.pl --debug 3. if step #2 returns an error about "loaded 2.35, need 2.34" do the following: sudo rm -r /usr/share/squeezecenter/CPAN/GD sudo rm /usr/share/squeezecenter/CPAN/GD.pm This was gleaned from the thread you mentioned, plus some experimentation. One other thing that may be important is that the instructions and my experience are based on LSs that have been opened with FreeLink. If you haven't done that, it might help here, and would definitely help down the road. Having the apt-get/aptitude utility for installing software packages cleanly is well worth the temporary palpitations from waiting to see if the reflashing to FreeLink will brick the LS. -- aubuti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51510 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
