I have 2 instances of slimserver running on my LAN. One works fine. The other has what are apparently network performance issues. Audio skips at the client, and the clock screen saver will freeze for a few moments, then jump ahead, then freeze, then jump... It is also slow to respond to commands from the IR remote.
Now before I start getting into operating system issues and crazy stuff like ethernet driver versions, are there any things I can try at the app level? Changing the priority didn't make a difference, and from what I have read the TCP parameters in the web app aren't very useful. FYI, the working server is running 6.2.2 on FreeBSD 4.10. The one that isn't working well is 6.5.4 on FreeBSD 7. The client is a Roku M1000. Wired and wireless connections to the "bad" server both have problems. The misbehaving server doesn't have any obvious networking problems. For example, it is a samba server and pushes files over the gigabit LAN with no problems. I play video off it, even. And the slimserver runs fine over the internet... It's just the LAN side that isn't working right.
