No, I've gone back to only using EAC on an old Windows 98 box and EAC
or dBpoweramp on a newer Windows XP box.

No, the above is what gave me a different extraction from the two
Windows machines.

grip can be used as a front-end to cdparanoia.  One of the options is
"grip (cdparanoia)" and another is just "cdparanoia".  I'm not home at
the moment and can't remember what the other ones are.  Anyway,
"cdparanoia" mode is the only way you can configure the command line to
include things like the sample offset, so that's what I was using.
