Hi everybody, after several other problems in conjunction with the upgrade to squeezecenter I decided to convert my whole music library from WAV to FLAC which worked very good using flac 1.2.1
But now I have to tag all the files to get them scanned correctly. I have to go a little detour because I only have the XML file from iTunes where all the tags are listed. I already had a MP3 copy of all the WAV files (for use with iPod), so all the ID3 tags are in there, too. And now my question: How do I get the tags from MP3 to FLAC? I tried using id3v2 but failed because the charset of the V2 tags seems to be misinterpreted by id3v2. In case of any Umlaut I get some other ASCII character. I have to automate the process because of the number of albums/songs. What I'm searching for is another tool to read out the tags correctly or some hint what to do to get id3v2 running correctly.
