I'm not sure I know which comment(s) you are referring to, my comment
that you quoted referred to a discussion (I think last week?) about the
economy and retirement savings.

I think you may know I am a general audience-type customer, not someone
with any computer knowledge. When I first came to these forums, I found
them to be unwelcoming and sometimes hostile to people like me who were
looking for help but not an introduction/invitation to programming or
computer engineering.

Giving people a too technical or an overly technical answer to a
question can be a turnoff. Probably better to aim low - if the person
wants more detail or something more involved, they'll say so. 

These products are now being sold in the mass market, places like
Circuit City. Future first time visitors will likely be more like me
than like you (if you are someone with computer technical knowledge). I
recognize it's all a balance. I've just tried to offer a different
perspective than I was finding. 

I've communicated this point, and have perhaps (unintentionally)
overdone it. I'll rest my case.
