Hi I can not help with your exact problem but there have been hard to
upgrade between major releases 7.1-7.2-7.3 et al.

The usual fixes when one is out of ideas is:

removing all third party plugins, they are often never versions you can
install later.

delete the cache folder, stop squeezecenter before doing this, just as
you do when you are upgrading. This removes the database and more and
forces a rescan of everything and build a new database, in an rpm build
the cache is here:
/var/lib/squeezecenter/cache
delete the whole cache folder

The "rm -rf" command can be handy here, be aware that recursive and
force is exactly what it says, don't delete the wrong thing.

when this does not work a totally clean install is needed.
more advanced users can probably fix things there can be prefs that
makes it go belly up etc.

To totally remove squeezecenter stop it.

service squeezecenter stop

and remove the whole thing.

rpm -e squeezecenter

then reinstall with "rpm -Uvh" as usual.

And why not go for 7.3.3 or 7.3.4 or a 7.4 nightly.
at least 7.3.3 which has improved a bit regarding SOX parameters ? or
is even later builds ? The 24/96 transcoding to 24/48 for non
transporter players will use less cpu, 7.3.3 is the bugfixed 7.3.2
should be safe i think.

Rember follow my advice if your out of better ideas, maybe someone
knows how to fix your install.
