I rip everything to FLAC files myself but VortexBox users have requested WMA losless playback. Here is the procedure I used to test VortexBox with WMA losless.
1. Put an Audio CD in my Windows machine 2. open widnows media player and select rip 3. click format and select "Windows Media Audio Lossless" 4. select all track and rip. 5. copy resulting wma files to VortexBox drive and re-index SC. 6. Play files through my Squeezebox Classic This works well. VortexBox is transcoding while playing using mplayer and DLLs. I don't think Slimdevies supports wma playback on Linux because a lot of users would have trouble getting all the parts working. VortexBox is free you can try it yourself if you want. -- agillis rip, tag, get cover artÂ… All you do is insert the CD! http://vortexbox.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------ agillis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60817
