I have a similar problem as the problem discussed in this thread. I have
danish charaters in filenames (in the UTF-8 charset) which appear as
garbled double-characters in SqueezeCenter. The problem is apparent
when listing albums on the SqueezeCenter by directory structure, there
filenames with æøå becomes garbled.

I suppose the problem is that my 'SqueezeCenter Status' reads:
'Operating system: Linux - EN - iso-8859-1', where is should have read
'Linux - EN - UTF-8'.

How do I change this? I would expect I can add some setting to the
startup file for SqueeceCenter (/usr/local/etc/rc.d/SqueezeCenter.sh,
which sets the correct charset). Or if the problem is the default
charset in Linux - but how do I change it?

I am running the SqueezeCenter on a Synology DS209+, v832 firmware. The
operating system is based on linux.
