Arm - I am still trying to fix the startup. I am quite sure that their is an authorization error. The MIP headless server does not start in the boot process, not before or after anything. It does not help to start it last, it is never running. I was only able to start the MIP server from a console after everything was started and the X window system was running. I found no related error on the formus here or at MusicIP. I tried to add the startup to the squeezecenter script, SC runs MIP headless not, so it is no problem with BUM or the order, the script stopped working in Ubuntu 9.04.
Maybe the MIP headless is not really headless after all?! I would need some linux knowledge about init.d scripts and the access privileges in Ubuntu 9.04 that I do not have :( So maybe some one else can help, it is no rocket since the script really does not do much. This is what the start up script does (removed conditionals and parameter handling): USER="yourUser" export MUSICHOME="/usr/local/mmserver/" su - $USER -c $MUSICHOME"MusicMagicServer start & > /dev/null" Is the "su" causing problems in the startup? -- Klaas Creator of *BrutefirDrc* see http://klaasprause.com/brutefirdrc Hardware: Squeezebox v3 with digital out tweaking and custom power supply, Tact TDA2200 Digital Amplifier, MBL 311-D Speaker ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Klaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8026 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62681 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
