Hi, I installed Alien BBC beta and mplayer on my headless linux box, to try to fix chipmunk sounds from SqueezeSlave/local hardware playing NPR 24Kbps radio. I now have different issues playing individual MP3 files.
Background - Fedora 10 SqueezeCenter Version: 7.3.3 - 26557 @ Thu May 14 03:07:12 PDT 2009 Operating system: Red Hat - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: i686-linux Perl Version: 5.10.0 - i386-linux-thread-multi MySQL Version: 5.0.77 With Alien BBC beta/mplayer installed and playing music via web interface/squeezecenter/squeezeslave on the local linux box: My ripped CDs (native Flac) and NPR play OK. However all the MP3s I have in the /Flac directory (that used to play ok - 192 KBps) can be selected in SqueezeCenter/SqueezeSlave/web interface; they look like they are playing (time bar progresses) however no sound. There is an error message on the console display [kfb.localdomain ~]# Streaming: Launching mplayer -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -cache 128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/3 /storage/music/flac/AC-DC - Back In Black.mp3 mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory With Alien BBC beta/mplayer installed and active, I can toggle between non-chipmunks or mp3 playing. - See details below SqueezeCenter/Settings/Advanced/FileTypes MP3 has two sections, each with two options FLAC - mplayer.sh/flac or disabled MP3 - native or disabled If I choose FLAC mplayer.sh/flac - then NPR at 24 Kbps plays OK (no Chipmunks) but individual MP3 files in the flac directory do NOT play (they just show time advancing but no sound). If I choose FLAC disabled - then the individual MP3 files play OK but NPR plays chipmunk. I hope this is useful. -- nowork ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nowork's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20453 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63259 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
