...of the pain! :D ok so since I figured that whis was probably a PEBKAC issue, I ripped out all of my perl install. I ripped out all the default Mysql installation from the OS (I have been using a /usr/local build of mysql for SC 7.2). I reinstalled perl 5.8.8, ran the SC perl build setup script. Everything seemed fine.
First problem, the "weak references" error. Seems to have been solved by installing Scalar::Util as mentioned in other threads. And then lo and behold: [09-07-12 17:05:05.4988] main::init (270) Starting SqueezeCenter (v7.3.3, r27044, Mon Jun 15 15:03:29 PDT 2009) [09-07-12 17:05:05.5248] Slim::Schema::throw_exception (288) Error: Can't find source for MetaInformation [09-07-12 17:05:05.5254] Slim::Schema::throw_exception (288) Backtrace: (etc) So now I'm back where I started. I'm running a release version of SC, on a newly-installed perl, with any possibly conflicting mysql libraries removed from the OS installation.
