I found a version that runs here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/softsqueeze/files/squeezeslave/squeezeslave-0.6/squeezeslave-0.6.1-linux-i386.tgz/download.
I missed this earlier as the tar xvzf on an NFS share wasn't actually
unpacking the binary, although it appeared it was.

This works fine with DSL 4.4.10 on my old Pentium laptop with the
command >  ./squeezeslave -r -s 192.168.1.249

Newer versions are either dynamically linked and set off a horror of
library dependencies or produce an 'illegal instruction' error which
seems to indicate that the binary was compiled for a more advanced CPU.
