I get this as well since a few months. It doesn't matter if I run the server directly or through the rc-file, with or without --daemon and --user, as root or the slimserver user. I have tried different versions, from 7.2.1 to 7.4.1 without luck, so I guess there must be some change in Archlinux. I tried downgrading perl from 5.10.1-5 to 5.10.0-4, which was what I had in November 2008. Still the same error, even though I followed the precise steps that used to work. Has anybody found the cause of this?
