Cant find any mysql log file there either. The .../slimnas/var/sqeezebox/Cache/ floder looks like this:
/DownloadedPlugins/ /InstalledPlugins/ /MySQL/ my.cnf plugin-data.yaml stringcahe.i386-freebsd.bin All of the 3 folders are empty. The SlimNAS / Squeeze Server installs MySQL? So there is no need for installing or configuring anything else than the FreeNAS and then follow the steps on your homepage?
