usually got the answer, found the tool etc.  The cherry on top for me is
the sheer amount of really useful tools available to do most things that
occur to me.

I recently installed W7 Enterprise for a look see and it looks to me
the best and most stable OS (DOS excepted) Microsoft has ever produced. 
Still, it does nothing I cannot do with equal ease in Linux, and for me
it's too little, too late.  I've not played with it enough to know
whether it suffers from the same malady as all earlier versions of
Windows viz. decreasing performance and stability over time.
