Hello,
nearly all my music is ripped in FLAC format, but I did convert many files to
MP3 or OGG for use in MP3 players. I do have the MP3 or OGG files respectively
in the same directory as the FLAC files.
Unfortunately the squeezeboxserver adds both FLAC and MP3 files to the
database when scanning (it's currently not a problem for OGG cause there the
tags aren't read properly, but I assume I'll have the same problem once this
is fixed).
I can't find anything to tell the squeezeboxserver which format to take in
such a case. There are a few solutions to this problem, but I don't like
neither one.
1. Do not allow MP3/OGG when scanning. But unfortunately I also have some
files in MP3 coding where I have no FLAC version.
2. Move all MP3/OGG files where I also have a FLAC version to a different
tree and make sure this one isn't scanned.

It looks as if the squeezeboxserver is simply looking at the file extension
when scanning. So if there was a 2nd extension that the squeezeboxserver
would recognize as MP3, I could disable one of the 2 extensions (I tried
this with .mp3 and .MP3, but unfortunately that didn't work). But I don't
know a 2nd extension that will be recognized as MP3.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Klaus
