I've just migrated to Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) for SBS, and know next to
nothing about how Linus works - so clear explanations needed please!

I would like to speed up the web interface and database queries, and
wondered if moving some files to a ramdisk would help. (The machine is
quite fast - Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, used only as a server and on 24/7).

I would have thought that moving some of the cache might help - maybe
the MySQL part? I understand that Ubuntu loads a ramdisk automatically
(to /dev/shm) - so how do I move bits of my cache there? How do I tell
SBS that that's where it is?

I could handle a full rescan every time the server is powered on, I
guess - would there be a benefit of moving everything there?n Again,
clear instructions on how would be nice :)
