Neither my 2 Squeezeboxes nor my controller will find my Linus (OpenSUSE 11.2) squeezeboxserver. In setup, I am offered only a choice for the server on my Mac. On the squeezebozes, I can enter the server's ip address for my Linux server, and they connect. But Controller does not give an option for that.
How do the clients find the server? Is there some special signal sent out? On what port (I have 9000 and 3483 open). And how does Controller find its squeezeboxes to control? It has suddenly stopped working, and there is not even a choice for the device to control on my menu. I have waited a week for Level 2 support to call me back, but to no avail. I have reinstalled the firmware, reverted to factory settings (5 times). Nothing works. I also reverted to factory on a Squeezebox. Controller can connect to my network, and can control itself via the server on my Mac.
