Clarification: [bert:~] 10:29:46pm 13 % host debian.slimdevices.com debian.slimdevices.com is an alias for www.logitech.com.c.footprint.net. www.logitech.com.c.footprint.net has address 199.93.34.126 www.logitech.com.c.footprint.net has address 199.93.56.126 www.logitech.com.c.footprint.net has address 209.84.4.126 That should be a bit clearer the difference between round robin and a CDN. The resolver returns 3 values. A client will choose one. Randomly. (Actually, now it seems to be returning a different set of IP's than it did last I looked... ) The choice of which of those (now 6) IP's I would has nothing to do with what is closest to me. It's psuedorandom. -- snarlydwarf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77518 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
